Driver House, Rossendale

Client: Hurstwood Holdings

Barrow Electrical were appointed to undertake the full electrical design and installation for the conversion of a vacant unit at Driver House, Rossendale, into a large-scale self-storage facility comprising approximately 500 individual units.

Drawing on our experience in the storage and logistics sector, we developed a coordinated solution focused on operational efficiency, scalability and low ongoing maintenance.

Scope of Works Included:

Temporary site power and a comprehensive containment system, including 150mm cable tray throughout

Main switchboard upgrade and three-phase distribution across all floors

Power, lighting and integrated emergency lighting using conduit, trunking and microwave sensor-controlled fittings

Data and BAFE fire alarm systems, decorative and external lighting, plus supplies to lifts, roller shutters and EV charging infrastructure

The lighting strategy combined intelligent controls with integrated emergency functionality, improving energy efficiency while supporting compliance and reliable day-to-day operation.
