Network infrastructure is electrical infrastructure. The cable routes, the containment, the patch panel installation, the testing — all of it is work that benefits from being delivered by an electrical contractor with the right accreditations, the right tools and the discipline to test and certify properly. Barrow Electrical installs structured cabling as part of full commercial fit-outs and as standalone data infrastructure projects.

Testing and certification

Every structured cabling installation is tested on completion using a certified cable tester to TIA/EIA 568 or ISO/IEC 11801 standards. Full test results are provided at handover — pass/fail data for every link, including wiremap, length, attenuation and return loss. We do not hand over a cabling installation without test evidence.

What We Install

Structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a)

Horizontal cabling from patch panels to outlet positions. Cat5e for standard data and telephony, Cat6 for Gigabit networks, Cat6a for 10 Gigabit applications. All cable installed to manufacturer bend radius and pulling tension specifications. Tested and certified to TIA/EIA or ISO/IEC standards.

Fibre-ready backbone cabling

Multimode and singlemode fibre optic cable for building backbone and campus connections. Fibre termination, testing and OTDR trace records provided. Future-ready backbone infrastructure for high-bandwidth applications.

Network points and outlets

Floor, desk and wall outlet installation. Faceplates, modules and surface boxes. Raised floor, perimeter trunking and ceiling void cable routes.

Patch panels and comms cabinet installation

Rack and wall-mount cabinet installation, patch panel termination, cable management and labelling. Neat, documented installations that maintenance teams can work from.

Cable management systems

Containment design and installation: cable tray, trunking, conduit and basket tray. Coordinated with power containment on combined power and data fit-outs
